The Code of the City

Server Rules

These rules exist to protect everyone's story. Read them before you connect — by playing on Mojave Eclipse you agree to follow them, and ignorance of a rule isn't a defense. This page is the official ruleset; the Discord links here and mirrors the highlights.

01

General Conduct

1.1

Respect everyone

Treat players and staff with respect at all times. Out-of-character harassment, hate speech, slurs, discrimination, or real-life threats result in an immediate, permanent ban.

1.2

No cheating or exploits

Mod menus, injectors, macros, and any third-party software that grants an unfair advantage are strictly forbidden. Found a bug or exploit? Report it — abusing it is a bannable offense.

1.3

One account per player

Alternate accounts used to evade punishment or gain an advantage are not permitted. Account sharing is at your own risk and your own responsibility.

1.4

English in main channels

Keep communication in OOC channels in English so staff can moderate effectively. In-character, speak however your character would.

02

Roleplay Standards

2.1

Stay in character

Remain in character at all times while connected. Use /ooc sparingly and only when necessary. Breaking character to argue ruins the scene for everyone.

2.2

Value your life (NVL)

Your character fears death and injury like a real person would. Don't act recklessly when a gun is pointed at you or your life is clearly in danger.

2.3

No powergaming

Don't force actions on others without giving them a chance to respond, and don't roleplay unrealistic abilities. Give people the room to react.

2.4

No metagaming

Information your character couldn't possibly know — anything learned through Discord, streams, or OOC channels — must not influence in-character decisions.

2.5

Fear & consequence

Actions have consequences. Commit to your character's choices and roleplay the outcomes, including arrests, injuries, and loss.

03

Combat & Crime

3.1

No RDM

Random Deathmatch — killing or attacking a player without sufficient roleplay or a valid in-character reason — is prohibited.

3.2

No VDM

Vehicle Deathmatch — using a vehicle as a weapon without roleplay justification — is prohibited.

3.3

Initiation required

Hostile action requires clear roleplay initiation. Give the other party a realistic demand and a moment to comply before escalating.

3.4

No combat logging

Disconnecting to escape an active roleplay scene, arrest, or threat is strictly forbidden and treated as evading consequences.

3.5

Hostage & heist limits

Group sizes, cooldowns, and hostage ratios for major crimes are defined in the Discord. Don't exceed posted limits.

04

New Life Rule

4.1

Death wipes the slate

If your character is downed and respawns at a hospital, they forget the events leading to their death and the identities of those involved. You cannot return to the scene.

4.2

No revenge runs

You may not seek out, retaliate against, or re-engage the people responsible for your death under the same scenario.

05

Gangs & Criminal Organizations

5.1

Register your organization

Named gangs and large criminal organizations should be approved with staff before operating. This keeps turf, conflict, and storylines structured rather than chaotic.

5.2

Build the story first

Criminal activity needs roleplay behind it — motive, planning, tension. No instant, motiveless violence or "loot and shoot" behavior.

5.3

Respect group limits

Maximum group sizes for hostile actions, robberies, and turf conflict are posted in the Discord. Don't zerg-rush or exceed those caps.

5.4

Turf & gang conflict

Wars and turf disputes follow the posted conflict rules and may require staff awareness. No single group may dominate the entire map or wipe out RP for others.

5.5

No crime in safe zones

Hospitals, police stations, and spawn areas are safe zones. Criminal activity, kidnapping, and hostile action are not permitted there.

06

Police, EMS & Government

6.1

Serve the roleplay

Emergency services and government exist to create immersive roleplay, not to "win." Give fair, realistic interactions to civilians and criminals alike.

6.2

Realistic use of force

Officers escalate proportionally and follow training and protocol. Excessive force without justification is a rule break, same as it would be in reality.

6.3

Don't interfere with medical RP

Allow EMS to work a scene. Interrupting active medical roleplay, or finishing off downed players to grief, is prohibited.

6.4

Corruption requires approval

Corrupt officer or government roleplay can make great stories, but it must be approved by your department and staff first — it's not a free pass.

6.5

Protect your assets & duty status

Don't abuse department vehicles, weapons, or evidence, and don't go on/off duty to dodge an active scene. Stay professional while on duty.

07

Economy & Business

7.1

No real-money trading

Selling or buying in-game money, items, vehicles, or assets for real-world currency is strictly forbidden and results in a permanent ban.

7.2

Earn it legitimately

Exploiting money glitches, duplication, or any economy bug is a permanent ban. If you find one, report it — don't use it.

7.3

Run businesses in good faith

Player-owned businesses must operate as genuine roleplay ventures. Shell businesses created only to launder exploited money are not allowed.

7.4

Honor your deals

In-character contracts and agreements should be respected. Scamming can be valid roleplay within reason, but OOC-motivated griefing or theft is not.

7.5

Strictly no pay-to-win

Donations and store purchases are cosmetic or convenience only. Nothing you buy will ever grant a gameplay or economic advantage over other players.

08

Streaming & Content Creation

8.1

No stream sniping

Using a player's live stream to gain in-character information or advantage is metagaming and is treated as a serious offense.

8.2

Run a stream delay

Streamers are strongly encouraged to use a broadcast delay. It protects you from snipers and protects the roleplay of everyone around you.

8.3

Represent the community

When you're creating content on Mojave Eclipse, you represent it. Keep your on-stream conduct in line with these rules and the community's standards.

8.4

Respect privacy

Never expose another player's out-of-character information — real names, identities, or personal details — on stream or in content.

8.5

Promote in the right place

Share your streams and content in the designated Discord channels. Advertising via in-game spam or unsolicited DMs is not allowed.

09

Reports & Staff

9.1

Handle issues in-character first

Most conflicts are best resolved through roleplay. If a genuine rule break occurs, gather evidence and open a ticket — don't argue in-game.

9.2

Staff decisions are final

Follow staff instructions during an active situation. Disputes are handled through the proper appeal channel in Discord, not by arguing on the spot.

9.3

Record your sessions

Keeping a rolling recording of your gameplay is strongly recommended. Reports without supporting evidence may not be actionable.
